Common questions
- What is myDinnerPlan?
- myDinnerPlan is a web app for household dinner planning. You save recipes, plan the week, collect who is eating, and build a shopping list from the plan. It does not sell or deliver food or meal kits — unlike HelloFresh or Blue Apron, you keep your own groceries and your own kitchen.
- How do you use myDinnerPlan?
- Create a free account, add recipes (or use the public recipe library), put dinners on the week, and — on Basic or Pro — generate a shopping list and share the plan with your household. You can plan by hand or auto-generate a varied week.
- Does myDinnerPlan have built-in recipes?
- Yes. There is a shared public recipe library you can cook from on day one. You can also type your own family meals. You do not have to start from a blank library.
- How do I import recipes? Can I upload a CSV?
- Type a recipe by hand on Free. Basic can paste recipe text and turn it into ingredients and steps. Pro can import from a recipe URL and bulk-upload CSV, Paprika, Copy Me That, or JSON-LD. There is no TikTok, Instagram, or photo import yet.
- What does myDinnerPlan cost?
- Free is $0 with no credit card and up to 7 upcoming meals planned by hand. Basic is $3.99/month or $39/year. Pro is $6.99/month or $59/year. New Pro subscribers can start a 7-day trial (card required). Prices are on the public pricing page.
- Is there a promo code?
- There is no standing public promo code. Occasional codes may appear in optional product emails or in your account. One code per checkout. See the Promotion Terms page.
- Does it auto-generate meals or only plan by hand?
- Both. Free is manual only. Basic and Pro can auto-generate and quick-pick a week from your library (and the public library). Pro adds pantry-first planning, filters, and theme nights.
- Is there a mobile app?
- myDinnerPlan is an installable web app. Add it to your home screen from any browser in two taps. No app store needed, and it works offline once installed.
